The answer is simple: Google Analytics 4 (GA4) offers your business a powerful suite of tools to help you take your customer experience to the next level. With advanced analytics and sophisticated campaign management, you’ll be able to understand your customers better than ever before. Learn more about the newest Google Analytics iteration and how your business can benefit from using it on your website.

What is GA4?

This is Google Analytics’ fourth version of their tracking and reporting technology. This new analytics platform was designed to give businesses better insights into customer behavior, allowing them to make decisions based on real-time data. The third iteration is Universal Analytics (UA) which will be sunsetted or stopped use in June of 2023. Most websites use UA to see customer interaction data and will have to switch before June or risk losing their data.

What’s the difference between GA4 and UA?

GA4 is Google’s most advanced web analytics tracking system to date. It offers more robust capabilities, such as a unified data model and the ability to use AI to identify trends in user behavior. Additionally, the underlying codebase of the system provides better support for mobile devices. Finally, it will integrate with other Google products, such as Google Ads and Search Console, allowing businesses to access more detailed customer reporting and accurate campaign numbers.

“One of the most significant updates is that this new platform tracks events instead of conversions. This means businesses can get a clearer picture of how users interact with their web pages and content instead of just monitoring conversions. The new system also supports more cross-device tracking, which means businesses can better understand how customers utilize different platforms.”

Why make the switch now?

While it’s not mandatory for businesses to upgrade right away, making the switch sooner rather than later can help you maximize your return on investment. By setting it up now, you’ll be able to take advantage of its more sophisticated features and benefit from improved data accuracy. Switching soon can help you better understand how your customers engage with your website or app and make informed decisions about where to invest in SEO.
